What We Do
Humans and owls are both masters of adaptation. Over millions of years, owls have adapted skillfully to their environments and, conversely, humans have gained the skills to masterfully adapt the environment to our needs.
Adapting our environment to our human needs, without attention to the resulting impacts on those with whom we share our habitats, has had devastating consequences both for ourselves and the rest of the natural world.
By rekindling the ancient human fascination and connection with owls, by inspiring awe and wonder that allow us to learn from the wisdom of owls, and by facilitating the study of owls and their preservation, we will discover how to save the owls and subsequently save ourselves, too.
We are living in a world that is more connected than ever before through technology and physical travel, but that world is made up of people whose relationships with each other and the environment around them are increasingly fragmented and superficial.
As the pace of change within our society continues at a frantic speed and as our way of living in the world continues to have devastating impacts on the natural world around us, Wisdom of Owls offers an invitation to stop, listen, observe, and learn what owls can teach us about surviving and thriving.
We can gain invaluable insights into resilience, resourcefulness, and the importance of ecological balance when we not only share the world with owls but also to learn from them. This will ultimately foster a sustainable future for both our species and theirs. The insights gained from owls, creatures that have thrived for millions of years amidst constant change, can serve as a beacon, illuminating pathways towards our own long-term survival and flourishing in this world that is marked by rapid change.
We envision the objectives of Wisdom of Owls to be: Wonder, World, Wisdom. You can learn more about each below.
